ClosureTurf® Sand Infill Services

Finish landfill closures faster with clean, even sand infill. Our conveyor and specialized sand blower trucks place the specified aggregate between turf fibers for uniform coverage and trafficable surfaces. We install the sand infill portion of ClosureTurf® systems across the United States.

Fast Production
Even Coverage
Spec Compliant

Infill Errors Slow Closures and Add Risk

If infill rates are inconsistent, panels wear unevenly and traction suffers. Rework delays capping, invites inspection issues, and pushes costs into later phases. You need calibrated placement, documented quantities, and a crew that coordinates with liner and turf teams so the closeout stays on schedule.

Why More Owners Use Professional Sand Infill?

Production at scale

Blower and conveyor placement covers large areas quickly with minimal disruption to finished panels.

Consistent results

Target pounds per square foot and even distribution protect the engineered turf and improve trafficability.

Tight integration

We coordinate with OEM guidance and the turf installer so sequencing is smooth from panel welds to final grooming.

What Exactly Is ClosureTurf®?

ClosureTurf® is a three-component final cover: a structured geomembrane, an engineered turf, and a specified aggregate infill. The geomembrane is impermeable and highly transmissive. The engineered turf protects the membrane and provides a grass-like surface. The aggregate infill is placed between the turf blades to allow vehicle traffic and add weathering protection.

We understand landfill schedules and compliance pressure

Closure windows are short and weather can change fast. Our crews stage material, verify rates, and place infill to spec while working in lockstep with geomembrane and turf teams. You get uniform coverage, a tidy site, and clear documentation for your records.

Self-Perform vs Partnering with Superior

Hand methods and ad-hoc equipment can tear panels, leave thin zones, or exceed rates. That creates uneven wear and safety concerns. Our calibrated placement, trained crews, and coordinated sequencing reduce rework and keep final closure on track.

Where ClosureTurf® Is Used

Municipal solid waste landfill closures
Utility and industrial CCR impoundments and landfills
Industrial by-product, phosphate, and mining closures

What Are the Steps for Sand Infill on ClosureTurf®?

1. Coordinate and stage
Align with the owner, GC, and turf installer on panel sequence, access, infill spec, and target rates.
2. Mobilize equipment
Conveyor and blower trucks are positioned for safe reach across active panels. Material gradation and moisture are checked per spec.
3. Deploy and place infill
Spread the specified aggregate evenly into the turf fibers at the required pounds per square foot. Work progresses by panel to maintain uniformity. This corresponds to the OEM’s “Specified Infill Deployment” and “Specified Infill Placement” steps.
4. Groom and verify
Brush as required, check coverage and traction, and correct any thin areas before turnover.
5. Closeout
Provide quantity records, photos, and care guidance for the first inspection cycle.
